Engine test benches
ZF Friedrichshafen AG planned the renovation of the exhaust gas chimneys and pipes for engine test benches at its Kressbronn plant. The task was to discharge the exhaust gases from the six test benches via two collecting chimneys, each with three flue pipes. The engine test stands are permanently connected to the exhaust system. The special feature of the system is the broadband design of the exhaust silencers at a temperature load of up to 600°C.
Medium: Exhaust gases from diesel and gasoline engines (at operating temperatures of up to 600 °C)
MAN Truck & Bus AG built a technology center at its site Nürnberg with 26 test benches for diesel and gas engines in the 100 hp to 1,800 hp power range.
The exhaust gases are carried via four support masts, some exhaust liners installed inside the support masts and several are installed on the outside (satellites), up to approx. 16 m above the roof.
The individual exhaust pipes up to the test cells including exhaust fans, silencers and exhaust flaps were also installed by Nießing.
Planning, construction, manufacturing and assembly of the entire exhaust system for four engine test benches with a power range of up to 400 kW.
