Design: Retrofitting of panel resonators to eliminate sounds with a frequency of < 250 Hz. In order to ensure regular flow to the silencer, guide plates were installed into the exhaust flue. Nießing created a model to carry out tests prior to installation. By fitting streamlines panel resonators and the guide plates, the pressure loss was actually reduced to less than in the original system.
